Foreshadowing like a boss

So I noticed something when rewatching Season 2 of #DD03. You know in S03E12, when #Pall and #Zylvane are exploring the remains of the Imperial Star-Palace? They’re talking about their relationships with #Sheevas the Many-Tongued, and Pall says, “They were the one who first opened my eyes to the Lost Reality. They were the one who started me on all this.” She’s talking at the time of course about the #SarkasHorizon, but then the camera moves out, to take in the silhouette of the Star-Palace with the two of them there, with this blue light from the sun bathing everything…

Well, in episode 12 of season three, we see Pall again, this time at the Docks of Wanara, and she’s come through the Sarkas Horizon and still has one of the Memory Orbs, and she’s about to try to use the last of its power to save #Wu-Fen the Unwilling who has just been consumed by the Lost Reality. And as she stands there, looking out at the stars, the camera zooms out and we see the silhouette of the Garuda, and even though the stars nearby are all red, the light from the Docks is blue for some reason, bathing everything in blue light in this perfect parallel scene to exactly one season ago.

Sheevas didn’t tell Pall about the Lost Reality and the Memory Orbs in order to survive the Sarkas Horizon. They told her about the Lost Reality and the Memory Orbs so that she could save Wu-Fen. A season later.

Holy shit. That makes so much sense, too, given Wu-Fen’s relationship with Sheevas as well — of course Sheevas would be motivated to save them.

You really think the writers had that in mind when they wrote season 2? Or was it something they kind of retconned since the season 2 scene wasn’t explicit?

Yeah I doubt they knew ahead of time.

Quite possibly they didn’t have it planned out — but there is a similar storyline in the novels, so they could have known they were going in that direction — or at least deliberately left it ambiguous enough in Season 2 so that they could go in that direction next season if they wanted to.
